ATCC Programmes We maintain a Tobacco Control Advocacy Resource Center that aims to coordinate and provide technical assistance and training on priority FCTC intervention areas under the guidance of African tobacco control experts. This resource center enables NGOs and health officials throughout the SSA region to rapidly access information specific to their needs.
The Center includes a coordinating website accessible through other websites, including those maintained by ATCA, ATCRI, FCA and that captures requests from NGOs for technical assistance. The website also includes resource materials in different languages.
In this light, we:
- Identify African Experts on relevant tobacco control subjects including legislative drafting and project management;
- Convene "rapid response technical assistance teams”;
- Maintain an African Tobacco Control Resource Centre website;
- Create and maintain a technical assistance needs request-response hub;
- Produce legislative manuals on smokefree and packaging and labeling
- Produce a toolkit on Project Management;
- Establish working relationship with WHO Knowledge hub and other tobacco control programs providing technical assistance, capacity building and training resources as appropriate.
